Many, many thanks for your donations.

Update : Thanks to the Gravells for raising £100 offline.

Hello everyone,

Here's how I like to remember Brett - fondling some wood on a beach in Dorset and gurning at the same time. It's quite a skill I can tell you! Some members of the public were a little disturbed, however.

We (me, Tim, Eddie & Harry) are going to do some running (slash - quick walking) and we would love you to sponsor us. I am asking, in a polite way, for you to empty your wallets of dosh, but Tim has gone a little bit 'Bob Geldof'. He is currently sat in a corner, rocking to and fro, muttering, "Give us your f$%&*%^* money!!"  Actually, that's what my kids say to me on a regular basis. Don't worry I will show Tim some nice pictures of yachts in a minute to calm his nerves. Don't mention the BBC!

Tim discovered this run in Chantry Park (8th June) and thought it would make perfect sense - and it does. Well OK, the bowel is not that close to the brain. Having said that I have met some people who talk ......... You get the general idea - Bobby Moore, football, Brett, jumpers for goalposts - it's all going in the right direction.

We are running for Brett rather than Bobby. Prefer Liverpool to West Ham any day of the week (except Tuesdays). The training is going well - I had a little drive round in the car yesterday.

Liverpool through to Champions League semi finals. He'll be liking that. Look, I think the gurn is changing to a little smile!

Brett was a unique chap and our lives are so much the better for knowing him. Tim's idea to run/crawl in his name is a fantastic one. It will raise much needed money and hopefully make all of us feel a tiny bit better. And Tim said he would do it in a thong if he got an extra tenner. You can make him keep his shorts on for twenty!

Yes I have seen the film called 'Run Fatboy Run' and I don't think anyone could possibly draw any comparisons there. However, nicotine patch applied, 1 and 2s taken care of and as for those £2.00 tight trunks... I have just pulled 50 penceworth out of my a***.

The best joke Brett ever told me (makes you realise how bad the others were):-

I did a photo shoot in the RSPCA offices yesterday. They were ever so small. Not enough room to swing a cat.

....and thanks, already, to Brett's friends who have kindly donated. It's only been online a few hours. Hey, ladies..........that Andy Wellsby is obviously loaded.... know what I mean?

Yes, it is meant to be a thermometer. Some people!

As Jen would say, "Here's the science bit..."

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

I wonder how the Nobby Stiles Fund is doing?

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
